Combined, the team holds more than 200 patents in display technologies. We function like a family in office, working together to further the growth, innovation, and strength behind NanoLumens.
Richard “Rick” Cope, CEO
Rick Cope, has served as a CEO, President, CTO, COO, and Combat Commander. With over 25 years’ experience in an executive capacity, Rick knows how to identify a great idea, find a great team, and how to make that idea a reality in a way that is not only appreciated by the NanoLumens family and our investors, but that has also been recognized by numerous prestigious institutions. In his spare time, Rick likes to crush crush cars with battery operated tanks at DARPA.
Karen Robinson, EVP of Business Development
Having served as CEO at four high-growth companies, Karen is an experienced leader in fast paced environments. In addition to managing our sales and marketing teams, Karen works to empower women in business leadership through with various associations; she was recognized by Atlanta-based Women in Technology as their Woman of the Year in Technology Awards in 2000 and was also one of Wireless Weekly’s Top 20 Women in the Wireless Industry. In the office, it’s easy to find Karen from her iconic laugh, heard from across the building.
Almir DeCarvalho, VP of International Sales
As a former International Worldwide Account Manager for FedEx, Almir knows how to get a unified message across the seven continents. Almir is an international focus to our company with his knack for international business relationships and mastering multiple languages. Since joining the NanoLumens family, Almir has helped to develop out growing international sales team, now the fastest growing department at NanoLumens. Almir is our office spelling bee champion.
Rick Bortles, VP Global Channel Sales
Rick Bortles has been a leadership figure in sales management in the technology circuit for over 30 years, serving as CEO of Elcom and on the advisory boards for Intel, IDT, and Craig Research Group. With NanoLumens, Rick furthers the NanoLumens brand by establishing channel and partner connections and managing our partner program and channel team. Rick is known around the office for his love of jelly beans and acronyms.
Paul Schaefer, VP of Operations
With a proven history in customer care and project implementation, Paul Schaefer heads up NanoLumens’ operations, shaping the growth and planning of our company with new projects and vendor relationships. Paul proudly served in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician and Naval Instructor, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Paul was one of the three original employees at NanoLumens and has been with us since day one.
Jorge Pérez Bravo, Principal Electrical Engineer
With a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in Parallel Programming and Digital Design from the National Institute of Optics, Electronics and Astrophysics in Puebla, Mexico, graduating with the highest score on his generation, it’s easy to see that he’s the resident genius at NanoLumens. Jorge brings 18 years of experience in digital and analog electronic design to our company, leading our Engineering team to explore new technologies and innovation.
Nathan Remmes, Director of Business Development
With a background in inside sales, Nate Remmes joined the NanoLumens team with a goal of revamping our sales operations. Now, Nate manages our inside sales team as well as marketing, creating an integral bridge between the two operations. Nate also brings levity to the office as our resident EA Sports NHL champion.
