ATLANTA, GEORGIA, July 16, 2014 — NanoLumens®, the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of indoor LED display solutions, today announced a significant expansion of its European sales and marketing programs with the appointment of David DaCosta to the position of Vice President of EMEA and the opening of a new sales and support office in London to serve the region.
“With our United States sales and marketing programs now very well established, the time is right for NanoLumens to make a meaningful commitment to the development of the EMEA region. We are very pleased to announce that these efforts will be led by David DaCosta, the former chairman of the Limited Space Media Group. David co-founded the Limited Space Media Group to consolidate intrinsically viable but fragmented businesses in the digital out of home industry to create a convergent media group serving the needs of advertisers and corporate customers,” said NanoLumens Executive Vice President of Business Development Karen Robinson.
Effective immediately, DaCosta is responsible for the development and implementation of all administrative, operational, sales, marketing, and technical support programs for the entire EMEA region. “I can think of no more exciting industry opportunity than to assume responsibility for the EMEA market success of this dynamic, forward-looking technology leader,” DaCosta said today. “NanoLumens is single-handedly responsible for changing the way customers think about engaging with their audiences. They make every dream a reality, something no other company can promise and then live up to.”
According to DaCosta, currently within the European part of EMEA there are 27 countries incorporating a mature population of 450 million — a market second in size only to the United States. “It is my principal target and area of responsibility to quickly develop and establish opportunities within this economic block and to represent up to 30 percent of global sales for the company.”
David DaCosta started his career at GUS in both the retail and distribution areas of the group. Subsequently he spent five years in the United States working in IT and electronic games distribution. He then served in the medical insurance and administration industry working with Lloyds of London syndicates in developing and providing global medical repatriation coverage for expats specifically those in the oil sector. After this, DaCosta entered the world of wireless digital media in 2002. He has spent the past decade building digital media platforms in the transport sector for network rail, in the medical sector at primary and secondary health locations, in the leisure sector with national and regional sports stadia, and in retail installing digital networks at primary and secondary shopping malls throughout the UK.
Outside of the industry, DaCosta has served on the boards of several public and private organizations. He is the founder of Missing Kids TV, a non-profit organization set up to invite DOOH networks to participate in assisting law enforcement with immediately broadcasting Amber Alert warnings.
