I’ve always considered myself a very patriotic person. Images of early 1980s classrooms, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing patriotic songs fill my memory. And every year on July 4th, I celebrated our country’s independence with family and friends, partaking in the great food, fireworks and festivities, just like most Americans. But at that time, I really didn’t get it.

Many Americans may have ventured to other countries for vacations and stints of work, but many have not called it home and dealt with the reality of limited freedoms. Without this reality, we often find ourselves taking our freedoms for granted.

It wasn’t until my husband sat me down and explained to me from the eyes of a combat veteran, what it truly meant to voluntarily fight for our freedoms. To watch your troops give their lives protecting our freedom because of the value it holds and being the one to ask, “Why am I still here when that mission was assigned to me,” knowing the tragic outcome. Understanding that level of valor and commitment is tough for a civilian, but the poignant images it triggers of perseverance and passion for the common goal had a profound effect on me.

And it’s that combination of perseverance and passion that drew me to NanoLumens. As I walk by the large LED display of a waving American flag and wisk by a copy of the Constitution on the wall on my way to a meeting, I’m consistently reminded of what it takes to be an innovative industry leader, and that we may not have those wonderful opportunities anywhere else. That same hard work and dedication that was put forth on the battlefield for our freedoms is put forth by the men and women of NanoLumens every day as we continue to strive to be the industry leader we know we are.

Believing in a company can be difficult to do. Corporate politics, greed and compromised values often take center stage, stamping out the good that, many times, just needs to be uncovered. But partnering with NanoLumens is something you can believe in, not only as a cutting-edge technology provider, but one that understands the sacrifice our customers and prospects make every day to be the best in their business. It’s what drives us and our unwavering commitment to the customers we serve.

Happy Independence Day from NanoLumens.
